Visual Merchandiser
Here at RCL Design Studio, we work with entrepreneurs, restauranteurs and collaborative creatives with the resources and support to make their brands and spaces memorable. This position focuses on the
RCL Hospitality wing of our studio. We currently have three self-propelled businesses in Seattle:
Bottlehouse Wine Bar in Madrona and Mr. West Cafe Bar in Downtown + University Village, with more projects in the works.
Responsibilities ::
Tasks include but are not limited to:
Merchandising, Retail, and Inventory*
Coordination and set up of new vendors
Product sourcing and purchasing
Monitor home and design trends and help capitalize on those trends
Analyzing and improving retail sales
Review numbers and sales weekly through POS and Inventory management
Product research and cost comparing
Project manage special retail projects (ie launches, markets, pop-up events, etc)
Create P.O.s to be sent to vendors
Create P.O.s when billing between RCL Hospitality locations
Create mood boards for seasonal projections
Attend retail conferences to network and see design trends when applicable
Manage monthly retail planning and goal setting meetings
Track and reconcile inventory and manage inventory changeovers at each company, monthly
Manage + organize plant inventory and backstock in the studio
Plant and Foliage*
Source + purchase plants for sale and decor at RCL Hospitality locations
Pick up florals at markets every other week
Review budgets weekly with ownership
Manage the upkeep and health of plants and foliage at each company, retail + decor
Water + refresh water of loose plants and florals across each business
Maintain current plant maintenance guides, update monthly as needed
Keep up to date on floral trends
Review design + social media platforms for inspiration
Track and reconcile plant inventory along with plant retail inventory, waste log dead plants
Manage + organize plant inventory and backstock in the studio
Additional Tasks: *
Special Projects/Creative Support
Workshop planning and support
Work alongside the Junior Designer + Events Manager
Support design team with organization, research, and creative design projects as needed
Assist Event Manager + Curators on projects and tasks as needed (ie public event markets and retail resets)
Assist with conceptual mood/storyboards
Expectations ::
25+ hrs per week with commitment to a consistent weekly reliable schedule.
Reports directly to Jr. Designer
Availability minimum 3 days a week
Flexibility on weekends to assist with special projects, tasks, and events
Company leadership and participation
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
Laptop for use in studio
Proficiency in Office Suite, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop
Excellent project management skills
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proven excellence with multi-tasking and prioritization
Thrives in a faced paced, dynamic small business environment
